It has rained every day since I've been in Nagahama, & as we left for Kyoto, the weather seemed to threatn us, yet again. Nonetheless we travelled to Kyoto, which is the closest large city. At the station, I encountered this beautiful & enchanting Xmas tree. Even in the grocery stores Christmas music is played, but let me remind you it is only the second week in November.

This junk reminded me of home...After lunch, we stopped at a Euro-cafe for a hot chocolate. There are so many more gaijing, or foreigners, in Kyoto than Nagahama, which is weird; people can understand our conversations. We embarked on a journey to the cultural part of Kyoto.

This temple, I think houses a shard of the Buddha's bone, only put on display every few years or so. Pretty crazy, no?
We couldn't read the dates on the stones, but I'm gonna go ahead & guess that the zombies that'll come out of there will be pretty f-ing old & scary.

This was totally posed, yo.This tree is decidedly an anomoly. I wish I could chop it into small pieces & carry it in my purse so I could show it to everyone I meet.

I think it's kinda hard to tell, but that green shit is actually covering the brook. I kind of wanted to jump in, but it was a little chilly-wills.
This guy is a perfect example of a douche bag. He is The Gaijing Who Moved to Japan to Become a Bum. He was singing traditional American folk songs & Christmas songs. Even at this ancient park, Christmas music!!! He has futile dreams of mediocrity.
